Verified Facebook Users Get New Mentions Android App

Facebook finally launched a new Facebook Mentions Android app for verified users. There has been one available for iOS, which has a fraction of the the mobile operating system market share, for going on two years.

With the app, which verified users can stream live video, talk with followers, and otherwise use Facebook in normal ways like sharing updates, photos, videos, etc. They can also get posts from people they follow and see trending stories from the app.

Verified accounts are generally reserved for actors, musicians, journalists, and “other influencers,” so this app is not for most people. That said, it’s nice that people who don’t use iPhones are not allowed to be influencers on Facebook and get the same features.
